WATCH: Shedeur Sanders rushes for game-tying touchdown

Arizona State responds with a late field before heading to the locker room

Facing a critical third down in the Arizona State red zone, Shedeur Sanders decided to take matters into his own hands or feet.

Shedeur’s 16 yard scramble temporarily leveled things in the desert. However, the Sun Devils went 48 yards to setup a short field and take a 17-14 lead into the locker room.

Sanders was 14 of 22 for 116 yards. Both Colorado touchdowns were on the ground. Earlier, Xavier Weaver took a jet sweep pitch around the edge for a one yard touchdown run.

Other first half standouts include Jimmy Horn Jr. And Michael Harrison with three and four catches respectively. On defense, Rodrick Ward and LaVonta Bentley each had a tackle for loss.

It was an ugly first half for both teams. Colorado was assessed six penalties and Arizona State earned five.

Total offense was 202 yards for the Sun Devils to just 150 for the Buffaloes.

Colorado is set to receive the second half kickoff.
