Colorado's Jordan Domineck welcomes the challenge of USC's Caleb Williams
After starting the season on a high note, the Colorado Buffaloes look to shake off a terrible loss to Oregon. A bright spot in the blowout was the pressure Jordan Domineck applied on Ducks QB Bo Nix. He was able to get after the Heisman hopeful with ease and looks to do the same this week against USC's Caleb Williams.
Domineck has proven himself at every stop of his career. He's ready for the task of facing the projected top-overall pick and knows the film on Williams tells a very accurate story.
"As a quarterback, he's a playmaker. I'm pretty sure everybody already knows, Domineck said on BuffsBeat Weekly with Nick Ferguson.
"The man is great with his feet. He's fast and has some of the best pocket awareness that I've seen in a long time. Being able to go against somebody that has won the Heisman trophy and be able to test myself."
Williams has played mistake-free in the first four games for the Trojans. What is more impressive is USC's offensive front has only allowed a handful of sacks. That's a statline Domineck will look to destroy as he did last week with Nix.
"We understand that it's going to be a hard game. We definitely know the weapons on their offense as well," Domineck noted.
The Arkansas transfer recorded 7.5 sacks last year and already has two in the early going with Colorado. This will be the third Heisman finalist Domineck has faced in his career. He got after Alabama's Bryce Young before winning the hardware in 2021, along with Clemson's Trevor Lawrence while at Georgia Tech.
