Colorado Buffaloes defensive tackle Bishop Thomas was suspended indefinitely for violating team rules before the end of the 2023 football season.

No official announcement was made by the team, but a final show credit in Amazon Video's docuseries 'Coach Prime' said Thomas was suspended and his status for next season was "still being evaluated" by Deion Sanders and his staff.

The original four-star from Florida State's 2022 recruiting class decided to come to Boulder as part of last year's surge via the transfer portal. Thomas is noted as a 6-foot-2, 300-pounder from Orlando, Fla., who played nine games for the Buffs last season. He recorded 117 defensive snaps with six tackles (two for loss) and a fumble recovery.

Thomas was looking to make an immediate impact for Sanders and the Buffs next season. However, the start of his next collegiate year might be delayed. He joined Colorado after redshirting as a freshman at FSU to preserve a year of eligibility.

If Thomas isn't ready to go for Spring Ball, the Buffs were able to secure another four high-quality talents on the defensive line during the open window period for the portal. This included a pair of four-star players with LSU's Quency Wiggins and Pittsburgh's Samuel Okunlola announcing they were Boulder bound.
