Colorado's Jordan Domineck impresses scouts at Tropical Bowl

The Buffaloes linebacker had a dominant performance in Daytona Beach

Jordan Domineck wanted to put on a show at this year's Tropical Bowl and he didn't disappoint. The Buffs linebacker took charge in the third quarter with some outstanding plays.

There was a drive that Arkansas State QB Layne Hatcher would rather forget. On first down, Domineck flew past the offensive lineman to get the sack. Then on the next play he batted down a pass directly into the ground. After the play, he celebrated by showing “The Shedeur” to the crowd. And finally on third down, he got penetration once again and forced Hatcher to scramble out to his right completing a short pass for no gain.

After the game, Domineck was pleased with his performance while standing  alongside Colorado teammate Taijh Alston. He explained the week coming into the game with practice time in central Florida. "We were preparing for this all week," Domimeck said.

"As soon as we found out we were going to the same bowl game together, we were like let’s treat it like we were during the regular season. We were roommates before, so let’s keep the streak going for the last college game…It was definitely fun. We were feeding off of each other’s energy the entire weekend. Just bringing that Colorado brand of football. We were able to make some plays, have some fun and put some pretty good tape out there.”

Domineck continues to train down in Denver prior to the NFL Draft. Colorado will hold its Pro Day in mid-March. It's hard to believe this will be the first for Coach Prime at CU. Ten years ago, only a single media member and scouts from half of the NFL teams were on hand for timing drills. However, this year is expected to be much different from years past.

“Whatever the future holds, God willing, he’s going to let it happen," Domineck said. "I’m going to put my all into this training and go hard at Pro Day and hopefully my name is called in the Draft.”
