Deion Sanders is a father figure to many people around him. The Hall-of-Famer is truly someone to look up to and understands what it takes to carry the responsibility of those duties on his shoulders.

When he started recruiting Jimmy Horn Jr., Coach Prime quickly discovered his soon-to-be receiver's father was incarcerated. The relationship between the Sanders and Horn families goes back to four years ago. Shedeur Sanders tried to convince Horn to be a part of the movement at Jackson State. He even verbally committed to Prime initially coming out of high school before backing away to attend South Florida.

Sanders went on to win two SWAC championships and migrate to Colorado. It was at that point last year that Shedeur finally got to Horn, helping to bring him to Boulder as part of Prime transfer portal class.

CBS 4 Denver reporter Romi Bean recently sat down with Sanders and Horn to talk about their special bond. Coach Prime went into detail about a "perfect timing" moment he shared with Horn Sr. over the phone on Saturday.

"One of the best moments that I had on Saturday... Jimmy was getting on the plane, and he said, "Hey man, I got perfect timing. My pops is on the phone," Sanders recalled. "Jimmy's pops is incarcerated, but just to have a conversation with his father and saying to him we were going to take care of him. His father was happy and elated."

Horn was one of four CU receivers with over 100 yards receiving vs. TCU. He also snagged a touchdown in the Buffs' upset win over last year's nation runner-up. The USF standout came to CU as an explosive playmaker with elite speed and great awareness. He'll likely get some run returning kicks, where he is one of the best in the country last year.
