Deion Sanders says it's 'Colorado vs. Everybody' regarding possible Big 12 realignment

Coach Prime is ready to face anyone

Deion Sanders isn't caught up in all the smoke of conference realignment talks.

Colorado's head football coach was recently asked his thoughts on the Buffs possibly heading back to the Big 12 and he gave a candid response.

"Rick George has done a wonderful job of keeping me abreast of what's all going on, but It's not my responsibility to say where we're going and what we plan on doing," Sanders said via Thee Pregame Show.

Colorado is said to be one of the schools considering an exit from the Pac-12 following a lack of transparency with negotiations of a new media rights deal. While Sanders has only been on the job for a little over seven months, his influence on bringing the Buffaloes back to prominence has been immense. It has created a 'Colorado vs. Everyone' mentality that has never been established at this level.

"I don't care whoever you put on the schedule," Sanders said. "I want our kids to be dominant. I want our kids to compete. I want our kids to win. So, I really don't care that much about whatever it is."

Sanders has faith that CU athletic director Rick George will make the right decision going forward. A move away from the Pac-12 seems to be a monumental step towards competing in the new world of major collegiate athletics. Especially with Texas and Oklahoma migrating to the SEC, along with USC and UCLA moving on the Big Ten next year.

"I know at the end of the day it's going to be business," Sanders noted. "Rick is going to do the best thing for the university and always has. I have full respect and understanding that Rick is going to do the right thing."

Colorado opens the 2023 football season against defending Big 12 Champs TCU on Sept. 2.
