Deion Sanders makes history once again. The Colorado Buffaloes head coach graced this month's cover of TIME Magazine, which is unprecedented in many regards.

The first CU coach to make such an impact on the national stage after revolutionizing college football is now the first person tied to CU athletics on the news publication's century-long cover list. The only one to come close was former US Supreme Court justice Byron "Whizzer" White. However, his accomplishments were based on politics and not sports.

TIME's reporter Sean Gregory did a lengthy write up entitled, 'The Unwavering Confidence of Deion Sanders' and explained his transition in Power Five football from Jackson State. He also talked about CU athletic director Rick George going all-in and transforming the football program from being a one-win team to national stardom.

A little before 6 a.m. Mountain time the next day, hundreds of University of Colorado fans, most wearing white cowboy hats adorned with LED lights, have assembled on Farrand Field, smack in the middle of campus. Some are students, others alums and locals, while a significant number have traveled from far afield, never having imagined they’d have reason to gaze at those picturesque peaks in the backdrop. Fox Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff pregame show won’t start for hours, but the revelers are ready. They’re here to see Deion Sanders, or Coach Prime—a play on Prime Time, his nickname from his 1980s and ’90s heyday—who arrived as head coach in December, radically made over this year’s team, and turned Colorado into the biggest story in sports.

Sanders' uncanny ability to understand today's current NIL landscape has been front and center. He has also leaned on his faith and outstanding judge of character to build Colorado into a competitor. Gregory also explores why Sanders has become the most talked about man in sports.

We also learned that Sanders' production team, SMAC Entertainment, is  developing a half-hour comedy show with Kevin Hart and his entertainment label Hartbeat. It's a look at Sanders in the office at CU and billed as "Entourage meets the Gridiron."

Sanders ended the feature with an outstanding quote. “I’ve never been a rock, an idle person. I’ve always been a mover and a shaker, a wave maker and a go-getter.” He shares one more message before heading back to the recruiting lounge. “We Coming,” Sanders says. “You’ve got to be crazy if you can’t see that. We Coming.”

TIME's upcoming edition with Sanders hits newsstands on Oct. 23.
