Deion Sanders to undergo emergency surgery due to blood clots
Deion Sanders is having emergency surgery tomorrow for a blood clot in his groin, per the Pat McAfee Show. The report comes a week after Coach Prime met with a group of three doctors about his health.
Sanders, 55, had surgery two years ago to amputate two toes in his left foot while at Jackson State. The first-year Buffaloes head coach seemed in outstanding spirits while talking to his players and staff over this past week.
This also comes a day after BuffsBeat first reported his son, Shedeur Sanders, wouldn't be attending the Manning Passing Academy this week in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
UPDATE- Sanders issues a statement on his health shortly after news breaks on his impending surgery.
Coach Prime said he plans to have procedures to repair a dislocation in his left foot as well as multiple hammer toes. However, these surgeries are on hold until he has proper blood flow in his leg.
“I went to the doctor the other day to check myself out, and I have two clots in my legs,” said Coach Prime.
“One in right leg and one in my left which is in my thighs. So now I’m having a procedure tomorrow to try and get those clots so now I can have proper blood flow to the leg so they can fix the toes."
