Deion Sanders told Joel Klatt there's no interest in NFL coaching

Coach Prime is about to get comfortable in Boulder

With Colorado's popularity being at an all-time high, many people have already started speculating as to where Deion Sanders will go next. The NFL rumor train left the depot with misinformed individuals believing Coach Prime has aspirations to be involved with one of the 32 teams.

However, anyone lost in the hysteria should put those ideas to bed. Sanders has zero interest in coaching in the NFL and told Joel Klatt this directly while in Boulder for FOX's Big Noon Saturday broadcast this past weekend.

If you understood anything about Coach Prime, the rumors never made sense on a surface level. The Hall-of-Famer doesn't care to coach millionaires, and his real passion is being able to serve as a mentor to his players coming up in the college ranks.

The Dallas faithful hope Sanders will come back to save the Cowboys, but I'm afraid that's never going to happen. Keep this in mind, Colorado and Rick George gave Coach Prime an opportunity to make this program his own. Sanders is grateful because it was a chance no other program was willing to give him with full and total control.

If I had to guess about Sanders' future, he'll likely set up shop and make Colorado a powerhouse the way his mentors Bobby Bowden and Mickey Andrews did at Florida State. Don't believe the hype and outside noise.

No. 18 Colorado hosts Colorado State at Folsom Field on Saturday. An ESPN primetime feature at 10 p.m. ET, with College GameDay on campus to start the day.
