Deion Sanders' unprecedented swagger revived college football

Coach Prime gave life to an outdated version of the sport

As the No. 19 Colorado Buffaloes enter a pivotal matchup with the 10th-ranked Oregon Ducks on Saturday, there's one person that everybody has their eyes on. The impact Deion Sanders has made to the college football world is undeniable. It's nothing short of a devastating earthquake that has shaken up a mostly-traditional scene once dominated by old school coaches.

The "Prime Effect" is not only real, but the rest of the world has yet to feel the aftershocks. One of Sanders' star defenders believes his coach provided life to a stagnant sport and has brought a new style tuned to helping players advance themselves into being a brand.

"I feel like he's brought a certain swagger," Colorado's defensive end Jordan Domineck said on BuffsBeat Weekly. "His mindset has completely changed the game of college football. He's bringing in a whole bunch of people you would never see on the sideline."

"It's amazing to see the impact that he has on college football. The way that he's turned this entire place around. We went from a 1-11 team to the most talked about team in the country just like that."

The Buffaloes are riding on a high wave and remained focused on what comes next. Nobody has becoming arrogant over what's taking place in Boulder. Sanders and his staff remain humble knowing the task at hand becomes more monumental week-by-week. It's a "Shock the World" tour with the naysayers adding depth on the bench with every CU win.

Domineck and his teammates preparing for Oregon Bo Nix, who's leading the charge in Eugene. The one-time Auburn passer is considered a Heisman candidate in some circles with 893 yards and eight touchdowns thus far. The Buffs sees this week in different shades with keeping Nix contained being a major factor.

"We know it's going to be a good game," Domineck said. "They have an offensive line that has only given up one sack. So, you know they're going to be pretty good. We've been watching film on them and studied their tendencies."

Sanders and the Buffaloes travel to the Pacific Northwest on Saturday, Sept. 23. A meeting with the Ducks awaits for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC.
