EXCLUSIVE: Colorado's Jordan Domineck says Travis Hunter is a true "generational talent"

Travis Hunter gets the ultimate compliment from one of his teammates

The Colorado Buffaloes got through the first week of the season on a high. It was a wild back-and-forth affair with everyone talking about Travis Hunter's diving for a touchdown saving interception near the goal line.

The two-way stud also impressed his teammates who were shocked about how fired up he was in the daunting Texas heat. One of those with a front row seat to watch the future top-tier talent was Buffs defensive end Jordan Domineck. Hunter notched 149 total plays against TCU and still had the energy to dance in the locker room after the game.

"Travis is completely different," Domineck told Nick Ferguson on BuffsBeat Weekly. "I'm not gonna lie to you. That man is a generational talent. He's somebody that you see and it's like, Man, I'm glad I got to be beside him and watch this man play. It's amazing."

Hunter has kept the same gusto off the field. Coach Prime recently said his star athlete sent him a text at 6 a.m. as encouragement to get the win at TCU.

As for Domineck, an outstanding spin move to the inside by the Arkansas transfer was the difference maker on TCU's final play of the game. It allowed TCU QB Chandler Morris to force a pass with a great open field tackle by Buffs defensive back Myles Slusher.

Domineck said the signature move, which made him look like a reincarnated Reggie White out on the field, was perfected since his days in Florida's youth football league. It was still textbook play that helped the Buffs pick up the victory in Fort Worth.

No. 22 Colorado faces Nebraska on Saturday at Noon ET. A record sellout crowd is expected for the former Big Eight rivalry game. It also marks Deion Sanders' home debut and the 100th opener at Folsom Field.
