Pittsburgh's Samuel Okunlola transfers to Colorado
Deion Sanders and Colorado are hours away from the start of early Signing Day, but they still aren't done in the transfer portal.
Former Pittsburgh defensive lineman Samuel Okunlola made it official by announcing he was committed to CU on Tuesday night.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound edge rusher became the latest to transfer to Boulder after two years in the ACC. He had 18 total tackles (6 for loss) with five sacks and a forced fumble 10 ten games during the 2023 season.
Okunlola was an original three-star out of Thayler Academy (Mass.). He was bumped up to a four-star transfer by 247Sports during this period. He was an All-New England and All-Independent School League Co-Most Valuable Player as a two-way star. His brother, Samson, is a five-star offensive lineman who's currently committed to Miami's 2023 recruiting class.
A huge list of offers for Okunlola coming out of high school, including Georgia, FSU, Michigan, and Nebraska, to name a few. He decided on Pitt to be closer to home and played exceptional well for the Panthers.
Okunlola will be an immediate upgrade for the Buffs defensive core. He's a beast who loves to swarm the ball and gets to the quarterback with authority. Kelly will mold him into a dominant player who could be a double-digit sack master.
Okunlola will have three years of eligibility remaining after using a four-game redshirt as a freshman.
