Shedeur Sanders takes shot at Nebraska's Matt Rhule for disrespectful actions

Buffaloes quarterback got defensive over Huskers coach trying to intimidate

Colorado didn't need any extra motivation going into the season. They heard what all the naysayers said and took it personally. Yes, Coach Prime has a box full of receipts.

One of those who had something to say about Deion Sanders and the Buffs during the off-season was Nebraska coach Matt Rhule. Whether it plays into the narrative or not, it was a factor for Colorado feeling disrespected.

Shedeur Sanders was asked about Nebraska after the game and didn't hold back any words. It started in the off-season and carried over to pregame warm-ups with Rhule sending his team out to intimidate the Buffs players by having a team meeting on CU's logo at midfield.

“It was extremely personal, you go out there and warm up and you’ve got the head coach from the other team standing in the middle of the Buff,” Sanders said in his post game press conference.

“It’s okay if a couple of players do it. It’s fine, just enjoy the scenery. But when you’ve got the whole team trying to disrespect it, I’m not going for that at all. I went in there and disrupted it. The Buffaloes mean a lot to me — personally — and that’s what I was saying in pregame. And that’s when I knew it was extreme disrespect.

"The coach said a lot of things about my pops about the program. I don’t respect that because you’re hating on another man. All respect was gone for them and their program."

Sanders didn't need to say anything. He let his play do the talking for him. The Deacon Jones Award winner threw for 393 yards with three total touchdowns. The second straight game for the Buffs QB with 300+ yards and no interceptions.

Colorado faces another rival with CSU, making the short trip to Boulder next Saturday. A primetime feature at 10 p.m. ET on ESPN.
