Shedeur Sanders is practicing at a high level. The Jackson State transfer recently received praise from Colorado's tight end coach Tim Brewster for the way he leads the Buffs offense. He also said a top priority to meet Sanders at his level.

"We have an absolutely elite, I'm talking about top level elite quarterback," Brewster said about Sanders. "The challenge for us offensively is to meet him on his level."

Brewster has spent time with next-level QBs at his stops in the NFL and college. He believes Sanders' ability to retain knowledge and transform that into smart plays will be key for Colorado this season. While Brewster and Sanders spent time around each other at Jackson State, this has a different feeling.

Colorado's Shedeur Sanders shows off unbelievable accuracy in practice

"(Sanders) is playing with confidence and poise," Brewster noted. "He processes stuff extremely well. Mike Shanahan, when I was at Denver, wanted to know one thing about quarterbacks, how quickly could they process information? He's doing an amazing job."

Sanders comes into the 2023 season as one of the most underrated quarterbacks in the nation. He threw for 70 TDs over the past two years at JSU and didn't receive any off-season accolades. Many people talk about making a transition from FCS to FBS and how difficult that will be for 'SS2'. Former CU coach Gary Barnett says that's not going to matter.

"(Shedeur's) chance to play at a Power Five level and make the adjustment... Everybody is speculating as to whether or not that can happen, I don't see that as being a big deal," Barnett told BuffsBeat's Nick Ferguson.

"I've watched this young man play (and) practice. He's got all the tools. He's going to have the coaching behind him, and I don't mean just in his dad. But I'm talking about his position coach and (Sean Lewis). That's going to let him become an even better player than what he has been."

Sanders takes the Buffs back to Texas for a homecoming season opener with No. 17 TCU on Sept. 2.
