Travis Hunter says "It's still football" after lacerated liver

Buffs playmaker in good spirits at home following bad hit

Colorado Buffaloes two-way star Travis Hunter was at home and resting on Monday night. He appeared on his Bleacher Report show "12 Talks" and made his first comments about the cheap shot by CSU's Henry Blackburn.

"It's still football at the end of the day," Hunter said. "It's going to happen. So, I'll just stay humble. I'll do what I'm supposed to do... It's football. I knew it was going to happen on the field sooner or later. Just got to get up and fight again. That's what I'm going to try and do. Good thing the doctor stopped me. Because I would still be out there playing. I'm thankful for eveyone that helped me."

Hunter was hospitalized after suffering a lacerated liver in Saturday's win over Colorado State. He was hit by Blackburn before falling to the ground in the first quarter. The former top recruit returned to the game before leaving for the hospital at halftime.

Dr. Jesse Morse believes Hunter fractured his ribs on the play, which ultimately caused the laceration of the his liver. He explained the injury in detail and what could be expected going forward.

Hunter's loss is a major blow for Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes. Colorado heads into Pac-12 play with No. 10 Oregon on the horizon this weekend. Hunter caught two passes for 21 yards against CSU. He was part of the Heisman hype conversation before the injury.
