Travis Hunter wants to start fast on Friday night

The Buffs star is tired of watching his squad struggle through the first half of games
In this story:

When a team is consistently better in the second half of games, that’s usually a credit to the coaching staff for making the necessary adjustments.

However, it’s also fair to criticize that same staff for a pattern of slow starts.

This has been a frustration shared by many this season. Even Coach Prime has referred to these tendencies as “hot garbage.”

The good news is this that the Buffs are far better than advertised. But the last three game have been a real struggle. We have seen glimpses of greatness but rarely any sustained excellence.

On Friday, the Buffaloes take on Stanford, and then it’s time to rest recuperate with a nice long bye week. And trust me, between injuries and illnesses, they need one.

But before they head off on vacation, it’s not enough to just beat Stanford, they need to look good in process.

“We’ve got to come out fast and ready to go,” said Travis Hunter on Twelve Talks.

Hunter returned to practice this week after missing three games with a lacerated liver. Will he play on Friday? He sure sounds optimistic.

“It’s time to show everybody what we’re talking about. When we come out fast, we’re unbeatable.”
