Duke Basketball Teases Special Jerseys for Battle Against Baylor
The Duke basketball program reserves the gothic-lettering jerseys, a tribute to "The Brotherhood" of Blue Devils past and present, for big-time matchups. So, considering head coach Jon Scheyer's second team doesn't boast a win over any currently ranked opponents, Wednesday night's game against 10th-ranked Baylor fits that description.

Plus, the showdown between the No. 21 Blue Devils (7-3, 0-1 ACC) and the Bears (9-1, 0-0 Big 12), tipping at 7 p.m. ET (ESPN), occurs in the mecca of basketball, New York City's Madison Square Garden, Duke's home away from home.

So, it should come as no surprise that the official Duke basketball account hinted at "The Brotherhood" home jerseys making their season debut for the contest by posting the following update to its profile pic on Monday:
On a superstitious note, it's worth pointing out that last December marked the first and only time that the Blue Devils have donned "The Brotherhood" home jerseys (white with navy script) for a neutral-site matchup against a non-conference foe. And that 74-62 victory over Iowa was Duke's most recent trip to Madison Square Garden.
Moreover, the last time the Blue Devils wore them for any game resulted in their 63-57 home win over archrival UNC in early February.
Under Jon Scheyer's command, Duke enjoys a 2-0 record in the home version of "The Brotherhood" jerseys.
Duke first wore the away version of the special threads (navy with white script) in January 2020 and the home version in December 2021. They've rolled out each a few times every season since.
Following the bout against Baylor, Scheyer's Blue Devils will have nine days off before welcoming Queens to Cameron Indoor Stadium on Dec. 30, the final non-conference game on Duke's regular season schedule.
