The Duke Blue Devils became the third number one team in as many weeks after topping the Associated Press Top 25.

Michigan State opened the season in the top spot but lost to Kentucky in the opener. Kentucky lost to Evansville in its first game after assuming the No. 1 position.

Duke, who has opened the season 4-0, has moved up from No. 4 in the preseason.

It's the 143rd week that Duke has been No. 1. That's more than any other team in college basketball. UCLA is next, with 134.

Duke has been in the top spot in one out of every six polls that the Blue Devils have been ranked in.

It's the 20th season that Mike Krzyzewski has reached No. 1 at some point. It's also the fourth straight season that Duke has topped the poll at some point in the year. The Blue Devils are 26-6 as No. 1 over the last three seasons.

Coach K has played 250 games as the nation's top team, 22 more than any other coach--UCLA's John Wooden is second at 228.

Since Krzyzewski began coaching at Duke, the Blue Devils have played more games as No. 1 (250) than as an unranked team (145).

Duke is four weeks shy of matching the rest of the schools in the ACC combined for most weeks at No. 1. North Carolina (110), Virginia (17), NC State (13), Syracuse (3, while in the conference), Wake Forest (3) and Georgia Tech (1) have combined for 147.
