Last year, Duke basketball neither added nor lost a scholarship player via the transfer portal. This year won't be the same, as one Blue Devil, redshirt sophomore big man Christian Reeves, is already seeking a new home. Meanwhile, head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff have begun reaching out to transfers.

The latest to reportedly hear from the Duke coaches is former Belmont wing Cade Tyson, a 6-foot-7 sharpshooter from Monroe, N.C., who was the Bruins' second-leading scorer in each of his two seasons in Nashville. He's the younger brother of recent five-year Clemson forward Hunter Tyson.

According to a post from Team Curry's Nick Jones on Wednesday afternoon, Cade Tyson has recently heard from Duke, UNC, Kentucky, and Tennessee. That's not to mention the dozen or so other schools that have contacted him since he entered the transfer portal last week.

As the reigning Missouri Valley Conference Rookie of the Year, the 20-year-old Tyson took his game to new heights as a sophomore this past season, averaging 16.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.6 points per game for a Belmont squad that finished 20-13 overall. And he ended up No. 2 in the NCAA in 3-point percentage, knocking down 46.5 percent of his 5.5 attempts per outing.

Wherever Tyson takes his intriguing talents, he'll have two years of eligibility remaining and can play immediately next season.
