In hindsight, Ken Jeong was the easy choice to represent Duke football and the university.

Duke football's first College GameDay in Durham begins at 10:30 a.m. ET Saturday on ESPN in front of the Duke University Chapel, culminating with the No. 17 Blue Devils hosting No. 11 Notre Dame at 7:30 p.m. on ABC.

On Thursday, following days of debate among fans about who should be the celebrity guest picker, ESPN announced the name. Ken Jeong.

Jeong will be on the stage alongside the famous GameDay crew for 30 minutes, beginning at 11:30 a.m. While he may be a bit too Duke basketball-oriented for some, as Jeong is a familiar face in Cameron Indoor Stadium, you can't go wrong with one of the funniest, liveliest actors around assuming the role to represent his alma mater.

Just check out his hilariously enthusiastic video revealing the news to his million X followers and Blue Devil faithful:

After graduating from Duke in 1990 and getting his M.D. from UNC in 1995, Jeong (no doubt a fan of Duke over UNC) practiced medicine for a few years before becoming a full-time actor, with memorable roles in The Hangover movie series, Community sitcom, and others. He's been a panelist on The Masked Singer since 2019.

And Jeong has been a regular at big-time Duke basketball home games over the years.

For now, though, the 54-year-old is shifting his focus to Duke football, hoping to bring second-year head coach Mike Elko and his Blue Devils some good luck as they look to pull off their second upset over a powerhouse this season (they knocked off then-No. 9 Clemson in Week 1) and improve to 5-0 for the first time since 1994.
