Prior to week one, we told you that Duke has entered a season as ACC or bowl champion on 10 occasions. Most recently, this year.

Using the boxing/wrestling/UFC rule of "beat the champ, win the title," we tracked those championships through history to see who currently holds them.

Here's a look at the Duke championship title defenses in week one, and where they'll be up for grabs on Saturday.

Ohio State holds the 1953, 1954, 1955, 1960, 1961 and 1962 ACC titles, 1954 Cotton Bowl, 1956 Orange Bowl, 1960 Cotton Bowl and 2015 Pinstripe Bowl titles. OSU defended them last Saturday, beating Florida Atlantic in Columbus, 45-21.

2017 Quick Lane Bowl: Clemson entered the season with this title and defended it last week  by beating Georgia Tech, 52-14.

2018 Independence Bowl: Duke entered with this title but lost it to Alabama in Atlanta, 42-3.

This week:

Quick Lane: Clemson, Sept. 7 vs. Texas A&M

Independence: Alabama, Sept. 7 vs. New Mexico State

Everything else: Ohio State, Sept. 7 vs. Cincinnati
