Duke Basketball One-And-Done No Longer Slated for Summer League
Friday is the first day of the Las Vegas Summer League. At 5 p.m. ET, the Milwaukee Bucks face the Denver Nuggets, in which former Duke basketball star Jabari Parker was originally to play for the Bucks as the 28-year-old eyes a comeback to the NBA after not signing on with any team all of last season.
But according to a release from the Bucks, "a family matter" will prevent Parker, who went No. 2 overall at the 2014 NBA Draft and reached 20.1 points per game for the Bucks in his third season as a pro, from participating in Summer League action.

He last played for the Boston Celtics in 2021-22, albeit in only 12 games before getting waived in early January that season.
Injuries, including multiple of the ACL variety, have been a persistent hurdle in Jabari Parker's career.
They've kept the 2014 ACC Rookie of the Year and USBWA Freshman of the Year from living up to the lofty expectations initially sprouting from his appearance on the cover of Sports Illustrated as a 17-year-old phenom in Chicago.
It remains to be seen if he'll get a shot at returning to an NBA roster somewhere next season. Unfortunately, Jabari Parker, one of the most productive Duke basketball freshmen in history, won't be able to impress folks in Las Vegas these next 10 days.
