Duke Basketball Product Enters Free Agency With Untapped Potential

Duke basketball's Cam Reddish will likely find a new NBA destination next month.

When free agency begins this summer, former Duke basketball one-and-done wing Cam Reddish is expected to be among the available talents in the league, according to a report from HoopsHype's Michael Scotto on Wednesday afternoon.

"The Portland Trail Blazers are not expected to extend Cam Reddish a qualifying offer," Scotto tweeted. "Portland is up against a looming luxury tax crunch. Reddish, who several executives believe has untapped potential, would enter the market as an unrestricted free agent."

So the 23-year-old Cam Reddish, the No. 10 overall draft pick to the Atlanta Hawks back in 2019, will soon be free to sign with any franchise that wants him.

He landed in Portland via a February trade following his one year with the New York Knicks, where he mostly rode the pine. In 20 games with the Trail Blazers last season, Reddish averaged 11.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.2 steals while shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 31.8 percent from deep in 27.6 minutes per outing.

Meanwhile, Portland's other Duke basketball talent, 2015 Blue Devil national champ Justise Winslow, is also set to be an unrestricted free agent following his two injury-riddled campaigns with the Trail Blazers.

A Grade 2 sprained ankle ended Winslow's season in December after the 27-year-old forward, another former No. 10 overall draft pick, had averaged 6.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.4 assists through 29 games.
