Duke Basketball Recruiting: Cooper Flagg Answers Cameron Crazies Call
Montverde Academy (Fla.) five-star Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 prospect in the 2024 class, is on an official Duke basketball visit this weekend and attended the Blue Devils' Countdown to Craziness celebration on Friday night.
With a few minutes remaining in the team's Blue-White scrimmage, Duke's famed student section in Cameron Indoor Stadium, the Cameron Crazies, began the chant: "Cooper Flagg, sit with us!"
As one can see in the video at the top of this article or in the post below, the 6-foot-9, 200-pound small forward answered their call:
He walked from his seat next to the bench (where he was beside second-year Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer and among seven other recruits on hand) across the baseline to the other side of the court.
Then he trotted along the sideline, high-fiving the Crazies before standing in the heart of the student section for the remainder of the scrimmage.
Blue Devil Country on SI.com was a few feet away, watching Flagg hoist the Cameron Crazies' iconic baby doll. He appeared to enjoy the evening, as the 16-year-old Maine native is an admitted lifelong Duke fan and had previously only been to campus on an unofficial visit.
Flagg has not named finalists. But the contenders appear to be the two schools that have hosted him this fall: Duke and UConn.

And the expectation is he'll announce his decision in the days or weeks following this weekend's three-day stay in Durham.
