Duke Basketball Recruiting: Five-Star Dylan Harper Eyes More Visits
Don Bosco Prep (N.J.) combo guard Dylan Harper has been down to a final five since the end of January. And the 247Sports Crystal Ball, albeit with only one entered prediction to date, has favored the Duke basketball program to come out on top in his recruitment for months.

However, judging by his conversation this weekend with Zagsblog recruiting insider Adam Zagoria, it seems like a safe bet that the 6-foot-5, 180-pound five-star junior won't choose a winner until at least late summer.
Harper, who is the son of former five-time NBA champion Ron Harper and has jumped 29 spots to No. 4 overall on the 247Sports 2024 Composite since picking up an offer from the Blue Devils in August, told Zagoria he's still likely to visit Auburn, Kansas, and Rutgers — probably not until summer — and doesn't yet have a decision timeline.
His other two finalists are Duke and Indiana, which he visited in the fall.
During his trip to Durham in October, the smooth lefty attended Countdown to Craziness alongside a couple of the Blue Devils' 2023 recruiting prizes. Then at the John Wall Holiday Invitational in Raleigh in late December, Jon Scheyer and his entire staff showed up courtside to watch him shine.
What does Dylan Harper like most about the Duke basketball program?
"Just 'The Brotherhood' culture they really have," he informed Zagoria, "the way they all come together."
Roughly a third of the top 50 prospects in the 2024 class are already off the board. That includes Duke basketball's lone commit among current high school juniors, Darren Harris, a sharpshooting four-star small forward at Paul VI Catholic (Va.) who ranks No. 50 overall.
