Perhaps the 10th Duke basketball recruiting offer in the 2025 cycle will go to Prolific Prep (Calif.) phenom AJ Dybantsa.

After all, the long-limbed five-star's dad, Ace Dybantsa, recently implied in an interview with recruiting insider Matt Whitfield that it feels like the Blue Devils are on the verge of joining the fray for his coveted son's services.

And it's worth pointing out that offers out of Durham to top preps so often come around the same time as ones from fellow recruiting powerhouse Kentucky. The Wildcats became official AJ Dybantsa suitors last week.

"They're interested," Ace Dybantsa told Whitfield about Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff. "We are waiting for their offer. Then, we'll go from there."

AJ Dybantsa, a 6-foot-9, 200-pound forward and Massachusetts native whose game has drawn comparisons to that of former Blue Devil star and current Boston Celtics sensation Jayson Tatum, ranks No. 1 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite.

He overtook prime Blue Devil target Cameron Boozer for the top spot in those rankings after reclassifying from 2026 in early October and now holds over a dozen offers. That list includes Duke's archrival, UNC.

Meanwhile, the Blue Devils' 2025 wishlist, which has yet to yield a commitment, is chock-full of composite five-star talents: guards Meleek Thomas, Brayden Burries, Cayden Boozer, and Jalen Haralson; forwards Cameron Boozer, Nate Ament, Koa Peat, and Caleb Wilson; and center Khaman Maluach.
