Duke Basketball Recruiting: Reclass Candidate Talks Blue Devils
Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer hasn't extended an offer to Buckhorn (Ala.) wing Caleb Holt. But it's worth noting that no 2026 prospects are yet on the Blue Devils' official wishlist.
As for Holt, though, there's a chance the 6-foot-5, 185-pound five-star, an aggressive scorer and defender who ranks No. 3 overall on the 2026 ESPN 25, will ultimately end up in the 2025 class.
"That's on the table still," Caleb Holt recently told Burner Ball about the reclass possibility. "I would need to take more summer classes to be able — it's whatever me and my family decide."
Holt has already scheduled September visits to Alabama, Georgia Tech, Georgia, and Auburn. He holds over a dozen offers, including from those four schools.
However, given his top-shelf athleticism and ranking, not to mention the chance he moves up a grade, the number of suitors should skyrocket soon enough.
And according to another quote from his chat with Burner Ball this week, Duke basketball is one to watch in this regard.
"They haven't offered me yet," Holt confirmed about the Blue Devils, "but they want to stay in touch with me. They said I'm one of their favorite players in the class."

Should Scheyer and his gang eventually enter the fray, one top competitor could be UNC, even though he told Burner Ball that the Tar Heels haven't reached out yet.
"I grew up a big North Carolina basketball fan and a Georgia football fan," Caleb Holt explained to Rivals' Rob Cassidy in December. "UNC is probably my dream school, though."
