Duke Basketball Staff Has Growing Interest in Dutch Sharpshooter
This week, national recruiting insider Andrew Slater reported that the Duke basketball recruiters are "now expressing interest" in Brewster Academy (N.H.) junior small forward Dwayne Aristode, a potential five-star talent from the Netherlands gearing up for his first season of American prep ball.
In August, MADE Hoops' Max Feldman noted that Aristode had caught the attention of the Blue Devils.
With the above in mind, it looks as though second-year Duke head coach Jon Scheyer could be on the verge of extending an offer to the 6-foot-7, 195-pound volume sharpshooter and long-limbed, aggressive defender.
But despite a minimal amount of available information on Dwayne Aristode — most recruiting sites don't rank prospects until they've begun playing at an American school — the Duke basketball staff isn't the only one eyeing him.
No, Kentucky assistants visited him last week. He's also on the recruiting radars at Alabama, Michigan State, and UCLA, not to mention several others.
Expect the offers to pile up soon for Aristode. Again, it wouldn't be surprising if the Blue Devils were among the first high-major programs to join that list.
For now, with the recent addition of five-star wing Nate Ament to the Duke basketball wishlist, Scheyer and his gang have offers out to nine 2025 talents. Thus far, none of the targets have committed to the Blue Devils or eliminated them from contention.
