Duke Basketball: Another Top-Three Recruit Reveals Blue Devil Offer

The 2025 Duke basketball offer sheet is up to eight names, including half of the top 10 in the class.

Duke basketball's interest in Perry (Ariz.) power forward Koa Peat isn't new. But his offer is.

Peat, No. 3 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite while trailing only fellow Blue Devil target and top-ranked junior Cameron Boozer among power forwards in the class, announced the offer on Tuesday evening via the following tweet:

Here's part of On3's take on the 6-foot-8, 210-pound five-star, the son of former nine-year NFL offensive lineman Todd Peat Sr.:

"Koa Peat has a naturally strong frame, with long arms and broad shoulders. On the ball, Peat plays with a confidence in both the half and full court. He is a good rebounder and able to push the break in transition. With his lengthy frame, there is upside on defense, especially guarding off the ball...The form on the jump shot, the release specifically, looks clean and consistent, leading to the thought he could grow into being a shooting threat."

The Duke basketball offer, one of over 30 in Peat's recruitment thus far, comes just weeks after prime Blue Devil target Cooper Flagg, a five-star combo forward who sat at No. 2 in the 2025 ranking, reclassified to 2024 (where he now ranks No. 1).

Furthermore, there's reason to believe Duke may have lost some ground for another of its relatively recent 2025 targets at Peat's position in five-star Caleb Wilson (No. 4).

So with all of the above in mind, not to mention Koa Peat's brute strength and top-shelf talent, this move by second-year head coach Jon Scheyer and his gang seems to make sense.

He becomes the eighth prospect on the official 2025 Duke basketball wishlist, joining Cameron Boozer, his twin brother in five-star combo guard Cayden Boozer, Caleb Wilson, five-star point guard Meleek Thomas, four-star point guard Brayden Burries, five-star combo guard Jalen Haralson, and five-star center Khaman Maluach.

None of those targets have decided on a college or publicly eliminated the Blue Devils from contention.
