Sons of Duke Basketball Champ Fall in Front of Jon Scheyer

During their official Duke basketball visit in early November, five-star 2025 prospects Cayden and Cameron Boozer watched the Blue Devils lose to Arizona in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Last season, the Columbus High School (Fla.) twins attended Duke's road loss to Miami.

And on Thursday night, second-year Duke basketball head coach Jon Scheyer sat courtside at the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla, for Columbus' 68-61 defeat at the hands of prep powerhouse Link Academy (Mo.) in their quarterfinal bout.

Despite the loss, the Boozer brothers shined.

Cameron Boozer, a 6-foot-9, 235-pound forward who ranks No. 2 overall on the 247Sports 2025 Composite, finished with 13 points, 15 rebounds, three assists, and one steal. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Cayden Boozer, a crafty guard sitting at No. 14 in the class, tallied a game-high 22 points and seven dimes.

Perhaps Scheyer and the Boozers would bring each other better luck in the win column if the sons of 2001 Blue Devil national champion Carlos Boozer, who was just a few seats away from Scheyer on Thursday night, decided to play for Duke. Or maybe not.

Either way, it's clear that Scheyer and his gang remain bonafide contenders for the heralded brothers.

They've held offers from the Blue Devils since May 2022. Although neither has named favorites or provided a decision timeline, they've hinted at early frontrunners via their visits thus far to Duke, Kentucky, Florida, and Miami.
