Delaware finished last season 9-4 (6-2 CAA) and made the second consecutive appearance in the FCS Playoffs under head coach Ryan Carty. The Blue Hens will enter the first season of their transition to the FBS level as the program will join the C-USA in 2025.

Delaware's 2024 schedule features three FCS out-of-conference games and eight CAA conference matchups. The Blue Hens will open the season against in-conference foe Bryant, but the game will not be an official conference game.
