UAlbany had a historic season in 2023, winning its first CAA title and making an impressive run to the semifinals of the FCS Playoffs. The Great Danes also won 11 games for the first time in program history as head coach Greg Gattuso was named the FCS Coach of the Year by FCS Football Central.

UAlbany's 2024 schedule features an FBS matchup against West Virginia, three FCS out-of-conference games, and eight CAA conference matchups. The Great Danes will travel to Idaho in a rematch of last season's FCS Playoff matchup, which UAlbany won to advance to the semifinals.
