3-Star QB Malachi Marshall Commits To Stony Brook
Three-star quarterback Malachi Marshall announced his commitment to Stony Brook. He was previously committed to Georgia State but reopened his recruitment on Oct. 16.Β
Marshall is the No. 125 quarterback and No. 33 player in South Carolina, according to the On3 industry rankings. He ranks as the No. 1 quarterback in South Carolina in the class of 2025. He is the seventh-highest-rated commit in program history.Β
As a junior, Marshall finished the season with 2,140 passing yards and 20 passing touchdowns. He helped lead South Pointe High School to the state championship in 2021. He committed to the Seawolves over offers from Appalachian State, Charlotte, James Madison, Marshall, and Middle Tennessee State.
Ryan Smith Named Defensive Coordinator At Murray State
Murray State officially announced Ryan Smith as the defensive coordinator under new head coach Jody Wright. Smith spent the last six seasons at Florida A&M, including four seasons as the defensive coordinator.Β
Under Smith, the Rattlers ranked No. 2 nationally in total defense during their run to the 2023 Celebration Bowl. Florida A&M ranked top 10 nationally in 10 different statistical categories, including defensive touchdowns and scoring defense. He helped develop SWAC Defensive Player of the Year Isaiah Major and Buck Buchanan Award winner Isaiah Land.
Before his stint at Florida A&M, Smith served as the assistant recruiting coordinator from 2016-18. He was also an offensive quality control coach at Alabama in 2015 as the Crimson Tide won the CFP National Championship.Β
3-Star QB Daveon Superales Commits To Montana State
Three-star quarterback Daveon Superales announced his commitment to Montana State. The 6-foot, 170-pound quarterback is from Graham, Washington.Β
Superales is the No. 155 quarterback and No. 50 player in Washington, according to 247Sports. He is the ninth three-star commitment in Montana State's 2024 recruiting class, which is headlined by ATH Luvens Valcin and running back Unterrio Latin-Henley.
Superales finished his senior season with 3,488 passing yards, 44 passing touchdowns, 708 rushing yards, and eight rushing touchdowns. He was named the 4A SPSL co-MVP and earned first-team All-State honors. Over four seasons, Superales recorded 5,917 passing yards, 66 passing touchdowns, 10 interceptions, 1,082 rushing yards, and 11 rushing touchdowns.
