Former BYU OL Dylan Rollins Transfers To Montana State

Former BYU offensive lineman Dylan Rollins announced his transfer to Montana State. He will have four seasons of eligibility remaining for the Bobcats after returning from his two-year mission in May.

Rollins redshirted during his true freshman season before leaving for his mission. The 6-foot-6, 295-pound offensive lineman signed with BYU as a three-star prospect out of Sentinel High School in Missoula, Montana.Β 

Rollins was ranked as the No. 114 offensive tackle and No. 1 player in Montana, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He was named the Gatorade Player of the Year after allowing only one sack during his senior season. He also earned first-team All-State honors and was selected to play in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl.Β 

Alabama State Names Chris Barnette As Offensive Coordinator

Alabama State officially names Chris Barnette as offensive coordinator. He will replace Harry Williams Jr., who spent two seasons with the Hornets. The Hornets ranked No. 9 in the SWAC in total offense and No. 8 in scoring offense last season.Β 

Barnette spent one season as the offensive coordinator at Winston-Salem State. Under Barnette, the Rams averaged 26.7 points and 310.3 yards per game. Both were massive improvements from the 2022 offense that only averaged 17.1 points and 239.7 yards per game.Β 

Barnette served as the quarterbacks coach at North Carolina A&T from 2015-23. He was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2018 and led the Aggies to back-to-back Celebration Bowl wins. Barnette was also selected for the Bill Walsh Diversity Fellowship with the Washington Commanders.Β 

He started his career at Guiford in 2007, where he was also an All-American wide receiver. Barnette set the school record with 266 receptions for 2,953 receiving yards and 30 receiving touchdowns. He earned Division III All-American honors in back-to-back seasons.Β 

Georgia State DB JayT Jackson Transfers To Tennessee State

Former Georgia State defensive back JayT Jackson has officially transferred to Tennessee State. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining for the Tigers.Β 

Jackson redshirted during his true freshman season and saw action in six games during the 2023 season. He recorded three total tackles and one tackle for loss for the Panthers.Β 

Jackson signed with Georgia State as a three-star prospect out of Spencer High School. He was the No. 173 cornerback and No. 177 player in Georgia, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Over his final two seasons in high school, Jackson recorded 80 total tackles, 23 pass breakups, five interceptions, and two fumble recoveries.Β 

Utah Tech DB Devyn Perkins Transfers To Southern Utah

Former Utah Tech defensive back Devyn Perkins announced his transfer to Southern Utah. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining for the Thunderbirds.Β 

Perkins saw action in 29 games over four seasons at Utah Tech. He had a breakout redshirt freshman season with 31 total tackles, two interceptions, eight pass breakups, and one defensive touchdown.Β 

Over his four seasons, Perkins recorded 85 total tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions, and 19 pass breakups. He signed with Utah Tech out of Las Vegas High School in the class of 2020. He earned first-team All-Conference honors as a senior.Β
