Weber State CB/KR Abraham Williams Transfers To Idaho

Former Weber State cornerback Abraham Williams announced his commitment to Idaho on Friday. He will have one season of eligibility remaining for the Vandals.

Williams is a two-time FCS All-American selection as a return specialist. He earned third-team All-American honors this season after averaging 29.7 yards per return. He is the only player in NCAA Division I history with five 100-yard kickoff return touchdowns. He finishes his Weber State career as the all-time leader in kickoff return average at 34.1 yards per return over 25 games.

In 2022, Williams earned unanimous first-team All-American honors after a historic season. He averaged 37.4 yards per return and four kick return touchdowns, all of which were 100-yard touchdown returns. Over three seasons, Williams totaled 42 tackles, three interceptions, 10 pass breakups, and one fumble recovery on defense. 

Monmouth RB Jaden Shirden Accepts NFL Combine Invite

Monmouth running back Jaden Shirden has officially accepted an invite to the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. The two-time CAA Offensive Player of the Year declared for the NFL Draft on Dec. 4 after four seasons with the Hawks.

Shirden led the nation in rushing yards in back-to-back seasons and was named the CAA Offensive Player of the Year in consecutive seasons. In 33 career games, Shirden recorded 3,697 rushing yards and 26 rushing touchdowns. He ranks third in school history for career rushing yards. He is a two-time consensus FCS All-American selection.

Shirden signed with Monmouth out of Cheshire Academy and was forced to redshirt during his true freshman season. He was named the Walter Camp Connecticut Football Player of the Year in 2019. He finished his high school career with 107 rushing touchdowns, which ranks third all-time in Connecticut state history. 

Shirden is looking to become the first Monmouth player selected in the NFL Draft since 2015. 

Merrimack RB Tyvon Edmonds Jr. Transfers To Robert Morris

Former Merrimack running back Tyvon Edmonds Jr. announced his commitment to Robert Morris on Friday. He will have one season of eligibility remaining for the Colonials.

Edmonds was named the NEC Offensive Player of the Year by FCS Football Central and Phil Steele this season. He recorded 1,247 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns, which led the conference. He ranked seventh nationally in rushing yards per game (113.4 YPG) and earned unanimous first-team All-Conference honors. 

In 30 career games at Merrimack, Edmonds totaled 2,072 rushing yards and 19 rushing touchdowns. He signed with the Warriors out of Bishop McNamara in the class of 2021. He earned second-team All-WCAC honors and was named the Offensive MVP for his high school.
