Grambling State Officially Announces Mickey Joseph As Next Head Football Coach
Grambling State officially announced Mickey Joseph as the next head football coach on Monday.
Joseph most recently served as the interim head coach at Nebraska over the final nine games of the 2022 season. He also was the head coach for two seasons at Langston, going 13-7 and winning a conference championship in 2011.
Before his stint at Nebraska, Joseph was the wide receivers coach at LSU (2017-21) and built one of the best wide receiver cores in college football history. He was an integral part of LSU winning the CFP National Championship and helped the Tigers set the FBS record with 60 receiving touchdowns. The Tigers also had two receivers (Justin Jefferson & Ja'Marr Chase) surpass the 1,500-yard mark in the 2019 season.
Joseph also served as the wide receivers coach at Grambling State for two seasons (2014-15). He also spent one season at Alcorn State as the assistant head coach and wide receivers coach.
Joseph will replace former head coach Hue Jackson, who was fired after only two seasons with the Tigers.
