Chris Ball Will Not Return As The Head Coach At Northern Arizona
Chris Ball will not return as the head coach at Northern Arizona after five seasons with the Lumberjacks. Matt Zenitz of 247Sports first reported the news.
Ball is 20-30 (16-21 Big Sky) over his five seasons at Northern Arizona. He helped lead Northern Arizona to the school's first-ever victory over a Pac-12 opponent in 2021.
Northern Arizona finished the season 5-6 (5-3 Big Sky) and ended the season winning two of the last three games, including an upset victory over No. 25 UC Davis. The Lumberjacks also upset No. 13 Montana on Sept. 23, which is the only loss for the Grizzlies this season.
Ball joined the program in 2019 after a successful run as the defensive coordinator at Memphis (2016-18). He also had stints as a defensive coordinator at Arizona State, Washington State, and Idaho State.
