Mercer defensive back Cam Sims announced his entry into the transfer portal on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound cornerback will have one year of eligibility remaining as a graduate transfer.

Sims earned second-team Preseason All-Conference honors entering the 2023 season. He entered the season as the No. 9 highest-graded cornerback in the FCS according to Pro Football Focus.

Sims had a breakout season in 2022, totaling 30 tackles, two interceptions, and five pass breakups for the Bears.

He transferred to Mercer after spending three seasons at Georgia State. He signed with the Panthers out of Lausanne Collegiate, where he earned first-team All-State honors as a senior.
