Gators Five-Star Center Target John Bol Releases Top 8

Priority center target John Bol released his top eight schools Friday morning. The five-star seven-footer included Florida in the mix.

Florida hoops recruiting is starting to heat up in the class of 2024.

Sunrise Christian (Wichita, Kan.) center John Bol released his top options list on Friday, moving forward with eight suitors in the mix for his services.

The five-star prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, included the Florida Gators alongside Michigan, Missouri, Texas, Wake Forest, UConn, USC and the Overtime Elite league. 

At a true 7-foot-2, 190 pounds, Bol presents the size and length Florida head coach Todd Golden has coveted in big men since taking over at the program's helm in March 2022. However, even after the acquisition of seven-footer Micah Handlogten via the transfer portal this offseason, the frame and wingspan Bol offers are unparalleled as it pertains to what the Gators have on the roster.

Bol aligns as a top target in the 2024 class as a result.

He sits alongside Flory Bidunga as frontcourt pieces the UF staff has vigorously pursued thus far. Nevada-based point guard Dedan Thomas Jr. rounds out the trio of priority targets the Gators have spent considerable time attempting to lure into the program this cycle.

Bol recently visited the University of Florida for the first time unofficially on April 21. Bol’s presence provided Golden and Co. the first opportunity to sell the Kansas occupant on Gainesville. 

He’s taken five total visits during his recruitment process, and awarded Michigan and Missouri official visits in Sept. 2022. 

Florida will likely attempt to secure an OV from Bol in the coming months as the coaching staff vies for him to move east and don orange and blue threads for his collegiate career.
