On Friday, Florida Gators associate head basketball coach Carlin Hartman was named to the Tulane Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2023.

It's the second time Hartman will hear his name called as a Tulane Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, the first coming in 2020 as part of the 1991-92 Green Wave team that secured the program its first NCAA Tournament victory.

He'll be officially inducted as an individual athlete in New Orleans this September.

"I am truly honored," Hartman said in a Twitter post regarding his standing in the class. "Our great team in 1991-92 went into the HOF and that was an amazing achievement. For me to be chosen for my individual accomplishments, I am truly humbled and thankful! #RollWave."

A former 1,000-point scorer for the Green Wave, Hartman produced as one of the most effective big men in school history, compiling 1,180 points on 52.6% from the floor and 538 rebounds (269 offensive rebounds). Hartman, a sophomore at the time, memorably aided Tulane to its aforementioned first tournament victory with six points and 11 rebounds in the first-round contest against St. Johns in 1992.

He sits No. 23 in points, No. 4 in field goal percentage all-time and No. 5 in offensive rebounds by a Tulane player in the last 30 years.

Beginning his coaching career in 1996 at Rice, Hartman's served as a mainstay at the collegiate level with stops at Richmond, Columbia, Oklahoma and, most recently, UNLV.

During the 2022 offseason, Florida head coach Todd Golden brought Hartman — who he coached with at Columbia from 2012-14 — to Gainesville alongside him to lead the Gators' big men.

First-team All-SEC center Colin Castleton witnessed his most productive season in orange and blue under Hartman's tutelage, averaging 16 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists while proving equally effective on the defensive end as a rim protector with three blocks per game.

The well-accoladed assistant will look to add to his development history as he welcomes a handful of new faces for the 2023-24 season.

The offseason haul included transfers EJ Jarvis, Tyrese Samuel and Micah Handlongten alongside freshmen Thomas Haugh and Alex Condon.
