The Associated Press has released their Top 25 poll entering Week Two of the 2019 college football season, and much like the Week Two Coaches Poll, the Florida Gators found themselves sliding a bit despite a victory to start the year.

Florida ranks No. 11 on the Week Two AP Poll, falling three spots from their previous No. 8 ranking.

Similar to the Coaches Poll, six SEC teams are represented in the AP Top 25. Alabama (No. 2), Georgia (No. 3), Louisiana State (No. 6), and Auburn (No. 10) all rank ahead of Florida, while Texas A&M (No. 12) finishes out the poll.

Florida was jumped by Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas, and Auburn in the poll, comparable to the Coaches Poll where UF saw Notre Dame and Texas move ahead of them. Michigan, Texas, and Auburn make sense given the Wolverines and Longhorns handling their first game with ease, as well as the Tigers beating the previously 11th-ranked Oregon Ducks.

Notre Dame played comeback in order to beat Louisville - a team that went 2-10 last season and fired coach Bobby Petrino in the middle of a five-game losing stretch in which the Cardinals allowed at least 52 points a game.

Now led by former Appalachian State head coach Scott Satterfield, the Cardinals jumped ahead of the Fighting Irish late in the first quarter by a score of 14-7, as Notre Dame quarterback Ian Book got off to a rough start that he seemingly never recovered from. He ended his night going a modest 14-23 for 193 yards and one touchdown. Notre Dame went on to win by a score of 35-17, but it wasn't nearly as impressive of a victory as the final score might indicate.

All in all, it was a sloppy start to Notre Dame's season against a far lesser opponent in Louisville than Miami was to Florida. Miami received 70 AP Poll votes and 11 Coaches Poll votes, while Louisville obviously garnered no votes on either poll. I'm not sure I agree with the idea of Notre Dame jumping Florida given these circumstances.

Florida has a chance to assert their dominance over the University of Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks this Saturday in their home-opening game, which is set to kickoff at 7:30 P.M. at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville.
