Eight Gators Out for Florida vs. McNeese State
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida will be without a handful of scholarship players against McNeese State on Saturday evening, including six that were listed as questionable on the program's Wednesday injury report.
Of the players deemed questionable on the report, redshirt sophomore quarterback Jack Miller III (shoulder), wide receivers, redshirt sophomore Kahleil Jackson (lower body) and sophomore Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman (lower body), freshman tight end Tony Livingston (upper body) redshirt junior center Kingsley Eguakun (lower body) and cornerback Devin Moore (undisclosed illness) are unavailable to play.
Redshirt junior linebacker and special teams ace Ja'Markis Weston was ruled out of the contest on Wednesday with an upper-body injury. Additionally, although he was not included in the report, redshirt freshman linebacker Deuce Spurlock will be sidelined with an undisclosed injury.
Eguakun, Jackson and Livingston were listed as starters on the Week 1 depth chart. Redshirt sophomore Jake Slaughter will assume duties at center for Eguakun once again, while freshman Eugene Wilson III replaced Jackson and junior Jonathan Odom jumped Livingston on the depth chart at their respective positions this week.
On a positive note for Florida, redshirt sophomore wide receiver Marcus Burke, who was considered questionable with a lower-body injury, dressed out for the game and was observed participating in pre-game warmups.
Also, freshman wide receiver Andy Jean suited up and took part in warmups. He did the same in Week 1 but did not log a snap against Utah while dealing with a sprained MCL, he shared via social media.
Redshirt senior running back Cam Carroll (knee) senior tight end Keon Zipperer (knee), offensive linemen, redshirt sophomore Kamryn Waites (Achilles) and freshman Caden Jones (lower body), and edge rusher Justus Boone (knee) continue to nurse long-term injuries and won't play on Saturday night.
Redshirt sophomore defensive back Dakota Mitchell, who medically retired from football on Friday, was seen in a jersey with the team on the sidelines.
