Florida tight end transfer Andrew Savaiinaea, who entered the portal on Dec. 3 following two seasons in Gainesville, committed to the Nevada Wolfpack on Sunday.

A former three-star recruit from Graham (Wash.), Savaiinaea ranked as the No. 95 defensive lineman. He emerged as a potentially high-upside athlete target with the potential to occupy a spot on either side of the ball for Billy Napier and Co. in the staff's transition class at Florida.

He eventually capped off the Gators' 2022 class, choosing UF over offers from Oregon, Kentucky, UCLA and Nebraska to become the team's final pledge and signee of the cycle.

Savaiinaea initially commanded a role on the Gators' defensive line during his true freshman season.

In year two, the Evergreen State native realized a switch to the offensive side of the ball, providing depth at the tight end spot. He served as a reserve to the likes of his 2022 classmates Hayden Hansen and Arlis Boardingham, among several others.

Savaiinaea never appeared in a contest for the Gators, according to the team website. As a result, he elected to seek out a new opportunity following his redshirt freshman season.

He'll aim to carve out a role at Nevada following a sputtering start to his collegiate career in Gainesville.

Savaiinaea is one of 21 players to exit the Florida program through the transfer portal since the 2023 campaign ended on Nov. 25.

Quarterback Jack Miller III's departure from the team was made public on Sunday as well, but the plans for continuing his collegiate career are unclear at this stage. If he were to enter the portal, he would become the 22nd player from UF's 2023 roster to hit the open market.
