GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida's injury report featured one subtraction and six additions ahead of its Week 2 matchup with McNeese State, with one starter and multiple key backups considered questionable as announced on Wednesday night.
Find the Gators' injury report below.
- C Kingsley Eguakun (lower body) — questionable
- WR Marcus Burke (lower body) — questionable
- WR Kahleil Jackson (lower body) — questionable
- WR Thai Bowman (lower body) — questionable
- TE Tony Livingston (upper body) — questionable
- CB Devin Moore (undisclosed illness) — questionable
- QB Jack Miller III (upper body) — questionable
- LB Ja’Markis Weston (upper body) — out
Eguakun and Miller were not available when Florida matched up with Utah in Week 1, and defensive lineman Chris McClellan was removed from the report after taking the field against Utah.
Burke, Jackson, Bowman, Livingston, Moors and Weston were new additions to the list, with Weston being the lone player ruled out of the Gators’ Week 2 contest.
Pertaining to Eguakun, Napier said during Wednesday's SEC coaches teleconference that Florida's starting center will return to practice "at some point," implying that he has yet to since suffering a right ankle injury during fall training camp on Aug. 16.
Napier also suggested that swing offensive tackle, Florida International transfer and redshirt senior Lyndell Hudson II will be available against McNeese State after not taking the field last Thursday. Although the reason for his Week 1 absence is unclear, Hudson was sidelined for a period of fall camp with a concussion.
"I think we kind of went into the game with maybe only 13 starts with that group up front, so that group is inexperienced. I do sense it will continue to get better as we go," Napier said. "I think, you know, at some point we'll get Kingsley Eguakun back. I think Lyndell Hudson, you know as the third tackle, will be available this week.
"So, all those things I think will contribute to our group playing better, and I know they feel that they can play better as well.”
Florida gave up five sacks and accumulated just 34 yards across 11 carries from its running backs against Utah, perhaps a product of the offensive line missing multiple contributors.
Should Eguakun be unavailable in Week 2, redshirt sophomore Jake Slaughter would be expected to start at center after occupying in Week 1.
Regarding Miller, Florida's backup quarterback has been sidelined with what Napier described in August as tendinitis in his throwing shoulder. Redshirt freshman Max Brown, then graduate student Micah Leon, made up the depth behind Graham Mertz in the Gators' quarterback room without Miller in Salt Lake City.
