Injury Report: Eugene Wilson III Among Four Gators Out of Florida vs. Charlotte
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Gators will be without four players including two starters, wide receiver Eugene Wilson III and center Kingsley Eguakun, in Florida's Week 4 home matchup with Charlotte on Saturday, the program announced on Wednesday.

- WR Eugene Wilson III (upper body) — out
- TE Tony Livingston (upper body) — out
- OL Kingsley Eguakun (lower body) — out
- LB Ja’Markis Weston (upper body) — out
Wilson's unavailability, in particular, comes as little surprise. Napier indicated on Monday that Wilson's recovery from what was described as a collarbone bruise would take some time, although it would not be a long-term process. While the head coach did not lay out a specific timeline, it became clear that Wilson was unlikely to play in Week 4.
One of UF's top-performing freshmen this season, Wilson took over a first-team role at wide receiver in Week 2 and has collected 12 receptions for 104 yards and two rushes for 27 yards in just over two games to begin the campaign.
Wilson caught six passes for 44 yards on Florida's opening drive against Tennessee before suffering the injury.
Eguakun's looming absence is surprising, however. The Gators' starting center missed the first two weeks of the season with a right ankle injury but returned against Tennessee in Week 3 and played the entire game.
“He finished the game. I think he’s had some setbacks. I don’t necessarily think it’s a long-term issue. He just wasn't quite ready to practice today, yesterday. He was a little closer today but not quite ready to go," Napier said about Eguakun on Wednesday. "Typically if a guy doesn’t practice Tuesday, Wednesday for us, he doesn’t play. Not a drastic setback, but not quite where he needed to be to compete and play."
Livingston, a grayshirt freshman who started at tight end for Florida in Week 1, and Weston, one of the Gators' few special teams aces and a backup linebacker, missed Weeks 2 and 3 with their respective hurts. Livingston caught one pass for four yards in his collegiate debut versus Utah; Weston tallied two tackles on punt returns against the Utes.
