Redshirt sophomore Florida offensive tackle Jordan Herman on Sunday announced his intention to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

"I want to thank coach Napier and coach Stapleton for giving a JUCO kid [an] opportunity of a lifetime and making my dreams come true," Herman wrote via social media, addressing Florida head coach Billy Napier and co-offensive line coach Darnell Stapleton in addition to Gator Nation.

"After talking with my family the people closest to me, I will be entering my name in the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining."

Herman, a product of Fort Mill (S.C.) High from the recruiting class of 2021, transferred to Florida from Butler Community College ahead of the 2022 season.

He went on to appear in three games with the Gators, two in 2022 and one in 2023. The 6-foot-8, 371-pound Herman accumulated 28 offensive snaps on Florida's offensive line during that stretch, exclusively at left tackle.

However, Herman will look elsewhere following the emergence of redshirt sophomores Austin Barber and Damieon George Jr. as Florida's starting offensive tackle tandem in 2023, with redshirt sophomore Kamryn Waites and redshirt senior Lyndell Hudson II occupying the primary backup roles.

Additionally, Florida possesses commitments from three offensive tackle prospects in the recruiting class of 2024, from Leesburg (Va.) Tuscarora's Fletcher Westphal, Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinnett's Marcus Mascoll and Upper Marlboro (Md.) Charles Herbert Flowers' Mike Williams

Herman is not the first Florida player to announce their plans to enter the transfer portal during the 2023 season. He follows senior defensive back Jadarrius Perkins, who left the team following Week 2.
