Florida officially announced that its 2023 pro day is scheduled for Thursday, March 30 on Monday. Coverage of the event will begin at 10 a.m. ET on SEC Network, with NFL Network providing additional broadcasting inside the Condron Family Indoor Practice Facility on UF's campus.
Florida expects the following members of the Gators' 2022 roster to participate in its pro day, each player being draft eligible and listed in alphabetical order:
- Linebacker Amari Burney
- Edge rusher Brenton Cox Jr.
- Defensive lineman Gervon Dexter Sr.
- Safety Trey Dean III
- Offensive tackle Richard Gouraige
- Linebacker Ventrell Miller
- Wide receiver Jordan Pouncey
- Quarterback Anthony Richardson
- Wide receiver Justin Shorter
- Offensive lineman O’Cyrus Torrence
- Safety Rashad Torrence II
Florida track and field star and 2022 All-SEC sprinter Dedrick Vanover was added to the pro day roster following the official scheduling of the event. Vanover, a Gainesville, Fla. native, played two seasons of college football at Morehouse College from 2018-19, producing seven interceptions as a defensive back before shifting his full focus to track.
Of the group, only Burney and Pouncey were not invited to the 2023 NFL Combine, while Miller could not work out at the event due to a recent surgical procedure on his foot. Pro day will be the duo's first opportunity to perform athletic testing drills such as the 40-yard dash, vertical and broad jumps, and positional workouts in front of pro personnel.
Cox's return to the team's facility will also be of note. The fifth-year senior edge rusher was dismissed from the Gators in Oct. 2022 for undisclosed disciplinary reasons, which led to his immediate declaration for the draft.
While pro day could certainly prove beneficial for those four players and the others, all eyes will be on Richardson following his record-breaking performance at the Combine earlier this month.
Richardson isn't expected to re-test after producing a 4.43-second 40, 40.5-inch vertical and 129-inch broad in Indianapolis, Ind., but he could choose to throw passes in a controlled setting to Shorter, Pouncey and other former or current Gators pass-catchers with NFL scouts, coaches and likely general managers present.
Any encouraging performance between now and the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, on April 27, could bode well for Richardson as he has forced himself into the conversation regarding the No. 1 pick this year. Additionally, he'll be able to meet with teams on location for top-30 visits in the coming weeks.
