GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Two junior Gators, edge rusher Princely Umanmielen and punter Jeremy Crawshaw, were named to the Associated Press All-SEC Second Team for their performances with Florida in 2023.

Umanmielen began to emerge as a dependable starter on the edge for Florida as its starting strong-side defensive end in 2022, with an uptick in production following the midseason dismissal of Brenton Cox Jr., finishing the campaign with 4.5 sacks and 9.5 tackles for loss.

His pass rush productivity only increased after his 2023 offseason move to JACK edge rusher. Umanmielen produced 31% of Florida's team sack total this season with seven, led the team and ranked fourth in the SEC with 45 quarterback pressures (per Pro Football Focus), and made a total of 39 tackles including 11.5 for loss.

Crawshaw finished the 2023 season pacing SEC punters in yards per punt for the second year in a row, averaging 48.9 yards per attempt this season and 47.9 yards per attempt last season. Crawshaw's 44.3 net yards per punt in 2023 was tied for third-best among FBS punters.

Over three years as the Gators' starting punter plus two attempts as a true freshman, Crawshaw has averaged 46.7 yards per punt with 55 of 50+ yards and 51 pinned inside the 20-yard line. 21 and 15 of those kicks, respectively, were tallied in 2023.

Both Umanmielen and Crawshaw are eligible to enter the 2024 NFL Draft as each player has four years of collegiate experience under their belts. Neither has made their intentions to either go pro or return to school next season known publicly yet.

"[Florida director of strength and conditioning Mark] Hocke told me last week that he told a scout that they can’t have me until we win a National Championship," Umanmielen said on Nov. 20.
