Florida Picks Up PWO OL Commitment
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida woke up to some good recruiting news on Friday morning as Tallahassee (Fla.) Florida State University School class of 2024 offensive lineman Mark Faircloth announced his commitment to the Gators as a preferred walk-on around 8 a.m. ET.
A three-year starter on the Seminoles' varsity offensive line, Faircloth is an experienced tackle prospect with time spent on both the left and right side of the line.
Florida began to take an interest in Faircloth's services this year. He's unofficially visited UF at least four times over the course of the year, including for the Gators' Week 2 matchup with McNeese State this season.
The 6-foot-5.5, 305-pound Faircloth is not considered a ranked prospect by national recruiting services. However, he received scholarship opportunities from schools such as Florida Atlantic, Alabama-Birmingham and Middle Tennessee State and obtained interest as a walk-on from programs like Georgia and Clemson.
Faircloth is the first walk-on offensive line commitment to Florida in the class of 2024. He joins scholarship pledges in Leesburg (Va.) Tuscarora offensive tackle Fletcher Westphal, Upper Marlboro (Md.) Charles Herbert Flowers tackle Mike Williams, Snellville (Ga.) South Gwinnett tackle/guard Marcus Mascoll and Schwäbisch Hall (Germany) guard Noel Portnjagin in UF's haul of blocking prospects.
