GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida's long-awaited black uniforms, which will officially debut when the Gators host the Arkansas Razorbacks on Nov. 4 during UF's Salute Those Who Serve weekend at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, were revealed by the program on Tuesday.

Standard Gators black jerseys featuring the No. 1 are available for purchase from Alumni Hall for $105.00, before taxes and shipping.

Head coach Billy Napier first teased a black uniform shortly following his hiring as Florida's head coach. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Napier suggested at the time that he would introduce an alternate jersey to not only please his players but also pay respect to military members and their families.

“We’re gonna wear black uniforms here at the University of Florida,” Napier said in April 2022.

“But each one of those uniforms that we wear, we are going to auction off and we’re gonna sell those and take the money and we’re gonna give that to families that maybe had some type of injury and setback and are living a little bit different lifestyle as a result of their military service and their setback.”

Instead of traditional nameplates, the uniforms will feature one of five terms considered synonymous with the principles embodied by those who serve: Commitment, Courage, Excellence, Honor and Integrity.

Uniquely, the "Gators" script traditionally featured on Florida's orange helmet is not only replicated on the black helmet, but also on the front of the alternate jersey.

The University Athletic Association will honor members of the armed forces, veterans and local first responders as part of Florida's annual 'Saluting Those Who Serve' game against Arkansas, presented by VyStar Credit Union. For each ticket purchased, the UAA will donate an Arkansas game ticket to a local military hero, up to 2,000 tickets. Additionally, the UF campus will be transformed into Orange & Blue in celebration of UF Family Weekend. Events—from lectures to performances—will take place across campus leading up to the game at The Swamp.
